Mountain View open source software unicorn Redis Labs doubles valuation in $110M funding

Open-source database unicorn Redis Labs Inc. raised $110 million and doubled its valuation in its second big round of funding in eight months. The Mountain View company’s Series G funding was led by Tiger Global Management and brings its valuation up to $2 billion.

In a secondary transaction, Tiger Global, new investor SoftBank Vision Fund 2 and earlier backer Technology Crossover Ventures also bought another $200 million of Redis Labs’ private stock. Redis Labs provides software and services built around the open-source Redis database, valued for its ability to speed up online applications.
