How Advances In Open-Sourced Data Can End Police Brutality

The first three months of 2021 have already accounted for 213 deaths at the hands of law enforcement, and because of the work of data scientists, we know that the rate of fatal police shootings for Black Americans remains much higher than that of any other race.

In the ongoing fight against systemic racism and police brutality, leading data scientists believe the solution is improved open-sourced social data science — an interdisciplinary field that uses processes, algorithms and systems to answer complex social questions and make objective decisions.
